EASY HOMEMADE SALSA

 


Since Cinco De Mayo is only a couple days away, I wanted to share this easy & refreshing homemade salsa recipe! It’s flavorful, super easy to make & makes enough to feed a crowd! This recipe yields about 5 cups! 


Ingredients:
  • 4 ripe tomatoes (cored & cut into quarters)
  • 1 red onion (peeled & cut into quarters)
  • 3 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro 
  • 3 jalapeƱos (seeded & stemmed)
  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice 
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp ground cumin 
  • 2-3 tsp sugar 
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 15 oz can crushed tomatoes (Tuttorosso)
  • 4.5 oz can diced green chiles (I used mild, but you can use medium or hot if your prefer)
Directions:
  1. In your food processor place in tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, jalapeƱos, garlic & seasonings
  2. Pulse until combined 
  3. Add in your can of crushed tomatoes, green chiles, and lime juice 
  4. Pulse until well combined 
  5. Pour salsa into your serving dish & refrigerate until ready to serve 
  6. Serve alongside tortilla chips or anything else you’d like & enjoy!
