NO-BAKE FROZEN MARGARITA PIE
If you know me than you know one of my all time favorite cocktails is a classic margarita! Whether I’m on vacation, out to dinner, or at home if there’s margaritas count me in! This pie will have you thinking you’re on the beach with a cocktail! It’s zesty & refreshing, and since the crust is not your typical graham cracker crust and it’s made with salted pretzel snaps instead, it’s the perfect sweet & salty balance!
Ingredients:
The Crust:
- 5 oz salted pretzel snaps (finely crushed in food processor)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 10 tbsp butter (salted or unsalted works!)
Pie Filling:
- 1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1 tbsp lime zest plus more for garnish
- 2 tbsp tequila
- 1 1/2 triple sec
- 2 cups heavy cream
- NOTE: you can add more tequila & triple sec depending if you want the pie to taste a bit stronger!
Directions:
- Measure out your pretzels & finely crush them in your food processor
- Add them in a bowl with sugar and melted butter; stir well to combine
- Place pretzel mixture into your pie dish and press into the bottom and up the sides; set aside
- In a bowl combine sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, lime zest, tequila & triple sec; stir well and set aside
- In another bowl add your heavy cream and whip until soft peaks form
- Add your whipped cream into your sweetened condensed milk mixture & stir well
- Pour your filling into your pie crust and freeze for at least 4 hours; when you’re ready to serve let your pie defrost for 10-20 min! NOTE: freeze & thaw time may vary depending on how cold your freezer is!
